We found our first 1968 Mustang Fastback in the American state of New Jersey. The car was completely covered in rust, had a different engine and transmission, and was undrivable. We decided to buy it because it was a top of the line GT 390 in beautiful Candyapple Red. In the USA we obtained the period 6.4-litre, 390cui V8 big block engine and a three-speed C-6 automatic transmission precisely as it was originally produced. We carried out a nearly year-long meticulous renovation of the car, during which we exactingly kept every detail according to the original configuration verified and guaranteed by Marti Reports. During the renovation, a complete disassembly and subsequent reassembly of the car was carried out. Every single part was either meticulously renovated or replaced by a new one. Like each of our cars, the complete bodywork was gently cleaned by hand sanding and sandblasting down to the original sheet metal. Then we repaired it perfectly by plumbing, bonding and meticulously painting it exactly according to Novol’s special mandatory vintage eight-layer technology procedure. The car has an international renovation certificate and is consistent with the production configuration, right down to the last detail according to the serial number and the previously mentioned Marti Reports.
